Zombieland Trailer(HD)
Zombie land is known for being one of the best zombie comedy's around. Its genre is considered as a comedy horror, there are plenty of genre indicators that prove this. Firstly we see our main characters in a well lit super market which doesn't really represent the common horror genre. Woody Harrelson starts playing a banjo to attract a fat zombie which can relate to the comedy genre. This is the establishing shot which will lure the target audience in with the comedy by the killing of the fat zombie with the banjo.
We can see that the film is set somewhere in the outer suburbs in America. The movie is not set in one place they travel quite a bit within the trailer. The characters are primarily based in or near to a vehicle which would insinuate they are always on the move.
There are 4 main characters within the film/trailer. Zombieland has two protagonist male leads which would connote violence and conflict. We later see two female protagonists which will invite romantic interest as they are of the same age and will intrigue male audience as Emma Stone is a female sex symbol.

The Expendables 3 Official Trailer #1 (2014) - Sylvester Stallone Movie HD
The expendables 3 trailer is a very good trailer to analyse as there are multiple genre indicators. such as the big metal plated train with armed men on top and an army grade helicopter. expendables is known for its action scenes and massive explosions and gory fight scenes. all we see within the trailer is action and violence. at the beginning we see plenty of guns some small and some are very very big, this obviously connotes violence and indicates to the audience that it is a action film. we see that some sort of prison break is happening which tells the audience what the film will be about and whats going to happen. the location is a little unclear but we see glimpses of big cities like Vegas, most of the film trailer is filmed in derelict locations.
within this trailer there are an array of different stunts and massive explosions, for example the motorbike stunt going up a building is very hectic and hasn't been seen before this will intrigue their target audience (15-28) as stereo-typically young males love big explosions and stunts as they will like to relate to it.
Expendables is known for their all star cast, they have well known action actors which lure in action film fans from around the film industry. for example Harrison ford fans (Indiana Jones) will go to see the film because he is it in. the Cast consists of; Sylvester Stallone, Jason statham, Harrison ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Wesley snipes, terry crews and Jet Li. All these actors will be considered as a unique selling point as if the film as good actors in it it is bound to do well and be a good movie which will encourage people to see it. Sylvester Stallone has the most screen time out of the most of them, this is due to him being one of the biggest actor there and he is the director of the film.
The titles are thrown onto the screen at the beginning to show the viewers who the film is distributed by. once the first 30 seconds have passed and has shown us the prison break and the massive train explosion. They break up the trailer by saying 'Lionsgate presents' the non-digetic sound changes during this break up when a title comes up. The title at the end saying Expendables 3 is the biggest title and in big bold writing standing out to the viewers. At the end all the actors names are shown to show the audience who is in the film and to lure them in. they do this at the end as they have seen the trailer and been amazed and then they see the end and get even more amazed by the amazing actors within the film.
Within the trailer they use allot of heavy rock music to relate to the action scenes. at the beginning they use whistling to build up tension, also the whistling connotes to army as the tune they were whistling is a recognized tune from the american forces. They also use a alarm type sound during the beginning of the trailer to build up tension as it becomes faster as the shot speed picks up pace, and then suddenly stops when the train explodes. They use Eminem through out the trailer as it is a fast beat song which goes with the flow of it, also Eminem could be their target audiences music taste so they can be more into the trailer. lastly the titles at the end, they use bullet sounds as the names fire on the screen relating the genre and trailer.

SKYFALL - Official Trailer
From this trailer we can see that this film is an action. The establishing shots we can see Daniel Craig holding a gun this is a genre indicator as a gun usually connote violence and death. The non-digetic sound within the opening scene is a very loud fast drumming sound linking in with the fast shot speed. we have a glimpse of the location, the area looks arid and dry which could tell the audience that its somewhere within Africa or a dry country in Europe. the music stops when James Bond gets shot, this sets the emotion of the scene as they want the audience to feel sad that James Bond getting shot and potentially dying. The first 20 seconds acted like an introduction to the film setting the scene and story for the film. once the intro has been shown we see That Metro Goldwyn Mayer and Columbia are distributing the film, which will intrigue audience as they are big companies that produce good quality films. Also at the end we see that the film was released in November for Imax which will lure in more viewers
The narration from money-penny explains what the story is going to be about and the mission for James Bond in this film. it also tells the audience that James bond died which keeps them on the edge of their seat. throughout the rest of the trailer James bond gets a lot screen time, this means the audience will warm to him and having an actor like Daniel Craig in the film can be seen as a unique selling point as he is a well respected action actor around the world and filming industry.
The location of this trailer is mainly set in London. this could be seen as a unique selling point as London is one of the iconic city in the world. for people who live in England will be able to relate to the film more and feel almost a part of it. Stereo-typically Americans love English films and films filmed in London as it is a far away country for them and most Americans will visit London for their sites which they will see in the film. For example The kings speech was very very successful in america due to these reasons

TAKEN 3 Official Trailer (2015) - Liam Neeson Movie HD
Sound is very important within a thriller/ action trailer as it helps set the tone mood and atmosphere letting the audience know what kind of thriller it is as you can get a number of different thrillers. for example Taken is a action thriller so it keeps the audience on the edge of their seats as they are excited to see what happens next. a movie like the purge is a kind of movie that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats as they are feeling nervous for the characters.
Non-diegetic music is used to reflect the narrative events such as the music in the trailer, they use high pitched tones to start off and as it goes pear shaped we hear drops in the music and it gets lower and louder.
Diegetic sound is used in the dialogue or actual sounds that can be heard between the characters in the trailer, an example of this in this trailer would the dialogue between characters and the explosions/gun
fire
A close up shot is used to show what exactly what the character is doing in detail, such as liam Neesons character arming a bomb which is a genre indicator of an action film.
The establishing shot shows a vast city scape, and has buildings that match new york city, they use this as it may relate to viewers watching in america and people around the world look up to new york city as it is global super city. medium shots are mainly used in this trailer to show the action going on and the characters in the film - The main characters are introduced in the opening scene to the trailer when it locates in a house, the audience recognizes that they are the main characters through the use of different things such as dialogue/camera shots/ events they are involved in and the amount of screen time they get.
Enigma codes are used to tease the audience and engage them in the narrative so they carry on watching the film. certain enigmas are included in the trailer such as puzzles on how or who killed Liam Neesons wife in the film and how does he escape or find the killer, certain questions are left unanswered in the trailer like why did the police go after him and who killed the wife? The audience want to know what will happen to the character.
In the trailer the audience would identify symbols such as blood, weapons and police these could make the audience feel excited to see the outcome of the film and what happens next.
